What is a gala to you? For us at SOCC it is all about the gesture of giving back to the community and donating for a good cause. Every September our schedule gets full of fundraiser events and one of our experts Saul Paniagua told us a little about the experience of being a part of the concept of galas.

This month we’ve been involved with galas such as The Starry Starry Night Gala, benefitting Voices for Children. Voices for Children is an organization that provides support and help for foster children in San Diego County and Riverside County, and Starry Starry night is an annual gala that collected $1.5 million for the foster children this year. For this gala we provided four different craft cocktails and a full bar package with bartenders lead by Saul who explains that there is a fundamental difference between large events and fundraiser events because of the community support the galas contribute to. All organizations have different objectives and causes to raise funds for and there are usually several fundraising events and activities each fiscal year! Events like Starry Starry Night is what we call a flagship event which is the main event of the year and the most fundamental evening for fundraising.

Apart from Voices for Children we also provided our services for galas benefitting Rady Children’s Hospital, The Botanical Garden and UCSD amongst others in September, and we are excited for more coming up in October! At SOCC we are proud to be in partnership with these organizations and each year we look forward to the gala season in September.
