Concours d’Elegance with William Grant & Sons

La Jolla’s Prestigious Car Show

Over the weekend, Snake Oil had the opportunity to team up with our friends at William Grant & Sons at the famous La Jolla Concours d’Elegance classic car show. It was a weekend filled with beautiful cars, parties and exciting cocktail experiences. Car fanatics and Hendrick’s lovers alike, there was truly something for everyone to appreciate at this event.

Whisky Tasting

The festivities on Friday were hosted at Covo La Jolla restaurant. To get the night rolling, Snake Oil team member Shanesta and Balvenie Ambassador, David Laird, hosted a The Balvenie Whisky tasting experience.

Whisky Tasting Booth

DoubleWood 12
The Balvenie DoubleWood is a 12 year old single malt whisky which gains its distinctive character from being matured in two wood types. Over the period of maturation it is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill European oak sherry cask.

DoubleWood 17 Year
To craft this The Balvenie 17 year old single malt whisky Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE returned to one of his most celebrated achievements – consecutive maturation in two different types of cask, a process often referred to as ‘cask finishing’.

Caribbean Cask
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 year old single malt whisky has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. This was easily a crowd favorite!

Hendrick’s Gin & Tonic

Ever had a drink made for you in a suitcase? Probably not. Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic Machine did! Whimsical and unexpected, this attraction made a classic favorite cocktail with none other than Hendrick’s Gin. Big thanks to our team member Stephanie for operating this epic machine.

Cocktail Graffiti

With a logo as beautiful as Hendrick’s Gin, it deserves to be featured right on your drink! That’s exactly what we did with this show-stopping cocktail, made with Hendrick’s Gin, coconut milk, lemon, applewood infusion, ginger, egg white and an edible custom design, served by our lovely Liza.

Cocktail Graffiti is a concept that can be executed at events small and large and is fully customizable. Put your favorite Picasso painting on top of a cocktail, your logo, or your John Hancock. Whatever it is, it’s unique to your event and your experience! It’s definitely the most Insta-worthy cocktail we’ve seen.

Concours Candyland

The party continued at the Sugarglazed Room at Aston Martin‘s Art Deco Party at the Cove Presented by Fraser. Marshmallows hung from the sky and candy filled every vessel in the sweet-inspired event. Snake Oil continued to pour cocktails for event goers, highlighting a cocktail made Hendrick’s Gin, watermelon, lemon and mint, poured over cotton candy and a color changing cocktail made with Hendrick’s Gin, lemon, herbes de provence and butterfly pea flower tea.

Champagne Sunday

Sunday morning called for champagne, so we did it up with Hendrick’s Gin, pressed lemon, Herbes de Provence reduction, topped with a beautiful micro rose.
