Dip + Sip: Our Food and Drink Guide for Super Bowl Sunday
Are you ready for Super Bowl LIV Championship 2020?! Whether you’re rooting for the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs, we can all agree on a killer party! Mark your calendar; the 54th Super Bowl celebration will happen on Sunday, February 2 and be hosted at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Demi Lovato will sing the national anthem ahead of Super Bowl LIV. We’ve got our winning Dip + Sip Food and Drink Guide to get you through an amazing Super Bowl party!
CHIPS, DIPS + BEER
These are the Super Bowl staples. You need something salty and something to wash it down; it’s not rocket science. When looking for a vehicle for a tasty dip, go for something sturdy like a corn scoop, pita chip, thick tortilla round, or soft bread or pretzel bites, especially if you’re making a cheezy fondue (or queso!).
Have some ice cold beers on hand. We love serving up local craft brews like Thorn Street‘s Barrio Lager or Pizza Port Brewing‘s Ponto, a session IPA. Keep in mind, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Keeping your beer below a 5% is key, unless you’re looking for a fight to round out your post-game evening.
Our favorite spot to grab dips on the go is Trader Joe’s. Pick up your favorite flavored hummus, a caramelized onion dip, their Spinach & Kale Greek Yogurt Dip and Corn and Chili Tomato-Less Salsa.
ESSENTIALS
Did you know that over 1.2 billion chicken wings are consumed on Super Bowl Sunday? It’s not a party without wings and a delicious blue cheese dip. If you’re not into the wing mess and giving out hand wipes, try the hassle-free option making a Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip.
Craft Cocktails. Are you surprised? If you have Snake Oil Cocktail Company cater your party, choose a few cocktails from our seasonal menu. Choose cocktails that match the colors of your team or the season’s flavors, or settle on a damn good bourbon drink to highlight on your game day menu.
Veggies might not be everyone’s go-to Super Bowl food, but if you put them out, people will eat them and your health nut friends will love you for it. Brighten your table with fresh carrots, snap peas, jicama, cherry tomatoes, cucumber sticks, sweet peppers, endive or anything else that looks great at your farmer’s market. Add nuts and your Trader Joe’s hummus and dips to accompany this veggie crudite.
FRIENDS
If you don’t have any (kidding), invite your neighbors, co-workers, in-laws and gym buddies over for the game. The key here is to delegate who is bringing what. Tell your IT guy that you want him to bring bruschetta and your brother’s girlfriend can bring veggies to fire up on the grill. This will take the load off of you as host, so you can focus on making sure there aren’t any reflections or glares on your brand new TV. Lean on Snake Oil to bring the whole bar, from beer to wine to craft cocktails.
THEMED COCKTAILS
You have your predictions and maybe you have your fingers crossed for the under dog. Our team colors are red, red and more red, so we’ll see a lot of deep reds made from beets, strawberries, pomegranates to get in the spirit. Our garnishes can lend to the theme with colorful paper straws and brightly colored herbs and flowers.
Not only does Snake Oil Cocktail Company have the ability to create themed cocktails based on your team’s colors, but we can also bring in Cocktail Graffiti with your team’s logo placed directly on top of a farm fresh cocktail!
